RVP TO FACE UNITED IN EUROPE

Former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is set to feature against Manchester United when the Europa League kicks off after the international break. The ex-Red Devils talisman who is currently with Fenerbahce after making the switch back in 2015. Van Persie started his career at Feyenoord, moving from the youth team before breaking into the senior team. This was before his move to England to play under Arsene Wenger in 2004.

Manchester United, Fenernahce, Feyenoord and Zorya Luhansk will meet in the group stage of the competition, meaning the 33-year old Netherlands international will play against two of his former clubs. The teams would meet from after the first break of the new campaign through December. September 15 and 29, October 20, November 3 and 24, and December 8 are the days set aside for the match dates of the continental games. (more…)

Betting firms make profit

Betting firm Ladbrokes has released their financial results for the half-year and showed an increased in their profit. This is mainly due to some surprising results in the Premier League as well as the Euros in France. Although the betting firm has had to pay some big money to people that have backed Leicester City to win the title, they have made more than that on betters that have lost their money.

Indeed there are not many people that would have predicted that Leicester City would have won the league except some die-hard fans. Most of the punters will have spent money on clubs such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool. DIRK KUYT BACKS NEW REDS SIGNING

Former Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt is backing the latest new signing of German tactician Jurgen Klopp to become a success at the club. The Netherland international moved away from the club years back, after enjoying an impressive run, but keeps his eye on all things Liverpool. Klopp signed a fellow Dutchman in Georginio Wijnaldum as his seventh new person as he tries to rebuild the Reds squad. Liverpool paid English championship side Newcastle £25 million for the player.

The ex-Kop star Kuyt gave a brilliant review of the deal, both for his former club and for his fellow national. He was quoted by Automatenherz to have said: “[It is] a wonderful transfer for Gini. The best compliment for him was that his name in my time at Liverpool buzzed inside the club. He was watched by the scouts already in his youth days at Feyenoord as a very great talent. (more…)

Feyenoord Move Up

If you look at the football playing teams of Netherlands Feyenoord is a team that is most popular. The team has beaten PSV and Ajax and has emerged as a popular team in the country.

As per the publication reports in the county, there was a survey conducted by a brand consultancy firm. This firm showed its survey findings to reflect Feyenoord to be the most popular club in the country and ahead of national teams like PSV and Ajax. This year the European Championship as well as in the World Cup it is being seen that the Dutch national team has been topping the list though they have slipped to the third position recently.

The club however enjoyed a successful season with a finish in the third place in the last season. They also ended the drought or trend of losing out on trophies and won the KNVB Beker trophy this year.
