GERMANS LIE AHEAD

Germany and Netherlands have been included in the group B of the Euro 2012, but that has not prevented them from being interested in playing a friendly after the conclusion of the European Championships.

The Euro 2012 is one of the highly anticipated tournaments in a calendar year, and it will be held in Poland and Ukraine this time around. Netherlands reached the final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and they are expected to be one of the dark horses for this European Championships. Even though Germany have been doing extremely well in international level over the past few years since the 2006 FIFA World Cup, they are yet to win a major trophy.

They will be hoping to put things right at the Euro 2012. Germany came extremely close to winning the previous version of the European Championships, but were defeated by a goal from current Chelsea striker Fernando Torres in the final. The Germany team that goes to this European Championships will be significantly different from the one that went to the previous versions. Michael Ballack is expected to be one of the significant exclusions from the squad. Despite playing each other on the group games, it seems that Germany and Netherlands are looking to face each other once more.

The two teams played each other in November of last year, and it was a match in which the Germans came out 3-0 winners. Netherlands will be looking for revenge this time around. The two clubs will be playing the friendly match at Amsterdam on November 14th. This will be the first significant friendly encounter between two great teams after the conclusion of the European Championships. Germany have won 14 matches against Netherlands, while the Dutch have won 10 matches. So far, they have played each other on 38 occasions.
